What We Do

We do the work.
We manage the rest.

Sustainable HomeCare is built around two complementary services — skilled maintenance and repair performed directly by your technician, and professional contractor coordination when a job requires a licensed specialist.

Core Service · What We Do Ourselves

Skilled Home Maintenance & Repair

Your dedicated Residential Maintenance Technician performs the hands-on work personally at every visit. This isn’t a referral service — it’s a skilled craftsman who knows your home and takes personal pride in keeping it in excellent condition.

  • Interior & exterior caulking, sealing, and weatherproofing
  • Door, window, and hardware adjustments and repairs
  • Drywall patching, touch-up painting, and surface repairs
  • Fixture installation and minor plumbing (faucets, toilets, valves)
  • Gutter cleaning, downspout clearing, and exterior inspections
  • Cabinet, trim, flooring, and finish carpentry repairs
  • HVAC filter changes and routine mechanical upkeep
  • Seasonal home prep — spring opening and winter weatherization
  • Safety checks — smoke detectors, CO alarms, door locks
  • Appliance connections and minor electrical (fixture swaps, GFCI)
Extended Service · When the Job Calls for It

Licensed Contractor Coordination

Some jobs — major electrical, structural work, full HVAC replacement, roofing — require a licensed contractor. When that line is reached, we don’t leave you to figure it out alone. We manage the process on your behalf as part of your plan.

  • We identify clearly when a job exceeds our direct scope
  • We source and vet licensed contractors from our trusted network
  • We obtain quotes and walk you through your options
  • We coordinate scheduling and access to your home
  • We oversee the work and follow up on quality
  • You stay informed — and never manage a stranger alone
Transparency first: When licensed contractor work is arranged, the contract and payment are handled directly between you and that contractor. Our role is coordination and advocacy — your trusted guide through the process.

What Each Visit Looks Like

Skilled, purposeful care
every time we come.

Every visit follows a consistent structure — your home is assessed, prioritized, and improved in a methodical way that builds on itself visit after visit.

Monthly Plan · 12 Visits/Year

The Monthly Visit

For homeowners who want their home treated as an ongoing priority — addressing small issues before they become expensive problems, every single month.

  • Walk the home together or review your notes and concerns
  • Address carry-over items from last visit first
  • Perform home maintenance & approved repair work
  • Identify any emerging issues and discuss solutions
  • Update your home’s running maintenance log
  • Leave a clear summary of what was done and what’s next
Quarterly Plan · 4 Visits/Year

The Seasonal Visit

Four focused visits timed with the seasons. Every visit includes an exterior inspection, HVAC filter replacement, smoke and CO detector check, door and cabinet hardware check, and light bulb replacement — plus seasonal services tailored to your home.

  • Spring: Caulking touch-up at tubs and sinks, exhaust fan cleaning, cooling prep
  • Summer: Adjust blinds/shades/fan blades, tighten railings and porch steps, screen evaluation, pest entry checks
  • Fall: Weatherization, heating prep, caulking and sealing, door sweeps, gutter evaluation
  • Winter: Safety checks (handrails, grab bars), moisture monitoring, sticking doors and drawers, draft sealing, emergency readiness
  • Hands-on maintenance and pre-scheduled approved repairs performed each visit
  • Written seasonal report with priority recommendations
Annual Plan · 1 Visit/Year

The Annual Assessment

A thorough once-a-year visit that gives your home a fresh, professional set of eyes — catching what has slipped and getting it handled before it becomes a bigger issue.

  • Immediate hands-on minor repair work as approved by homeowner
  • Documented list of recommended future maintenance
  • Safety systems verification throughout the home
  • Seasonal prep for the time of year
  • Written report you can reference and act on all year

When the Job Is Bigger

We know our limits.
That’s what makes us trustworthy.

Part of what sets Sustainable HomeCare apart is the honesty to know when a job requires a licensed specialist — and the network and experience to manage that process for you without adding stress to your life.

Electrical Work

Panel upgrades, new circuit runs, and complex wiring require a licensed electrician. We identify the need, source the right professional, and coordinate the job for you.

💧

Major Plumbing

Sewer lines, water heater replacement, gas lines — we coordinate licensed plumbers and remain your advocate through completion.

🌡️

HVAC Systems

Full system replacements and refrigerant work require certified HVAC technicians. We manage the process from quote to final checkout.

🏗️

Structural & Roofing

Structural repairs and full roof replacements require general contractors. We vet, coordinate, and stay involved so you always have someone in your corner.

🔍

Honest Assessment, Always

We will never pretend a job is within our scope when it isn’t. You’ll get a straight answer on what’s needed and why — with options, never pressure.

🤝

Your Advocate Throughout

Even when licensed professionals do the work, we stay involved — reviewing quotes, managing scheduling, and following up until you’re satisfied.

“Our technician has been coming every quarter. He knows the quirks of our house and pointed out some areas of concern that we see everyday but had not noticed. Last fall he caught some rot on a window frame before it spread further which would have resulted in major damage to a large double-paned window — causing condensation and cloudiness and the need for full window replacement. Had Ryan, our Sustainable HomeCare Tech, not identified and made the necessary repairs it could have cost us over $1,000 for a new window. I know this because I had to replace two other windows before I was smart enough to sign up with Sustainable HomeCare for ongoing evaluation, maintenance, and repairs. That one visit paid for more than a full year of the plan.”
